At EastmanWoodworking our goal is to offer hand-crafted antique reproductions and classically inspired furniture.

Wallace Nutting's antique reproductions from the early part of the 20thcentury are highly sought after today. The seventh edition of his catalog, from 1927, describes his goods thusly "….. a class of articles not elsewhere obtainable." "….a fountain for perfect style with careful work, largely by hand."

In that spirit, at Eastman Woodworking we use mortise-and-tenon joinery, hand-cut dovetails, detailed carving and hand finishing. Custom and small-quantity production combine with a painstaking attention to detail create lasting treasures.

Tim Eastman trained at the North Bennett Street School in Boston, where he obtained a solid grounding in traditional furniture-making techniques. Subsequent experience in furniture restoration validated the integrity of those methods and trained his eye for antiques.

An understanding of classical proportion is critical to the process of designing furniture. Eye pleasing aesthetics, a correct balance of proportions and fine curves come together as fine furniture.

We use cherry, mahogany, tiger maple and flame birch hardwoods, carefully selected for figure and grain match. A wide selection of veneers is available to add numerous possibilities.

While we cannot guarantee swift delivery of our products, we can promise that our customers - and their descendants - will be satisfied for years to come.

The tradition of fine furniture is alive and well at Eastman Woodworking.
